  • Additive Manufacturing Engineer

    Description

The Visser Precision Additive Manufacturing team located in Denver, CO is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer.

    Key Duties for This Position Will Include

    • Support design for additive consultation and utilize 3D modeling to optimize product design
    • Incorporate geometric compensation, support structure, machine stock, GD&T, and powder removal required to produce products effectively at scale
    • Generate additive build files. Optimize print process techniques in collaboration with process engineers to reduce build time while ensuring product quality and consistency
    • Interface with all strategic business units within the company to provide expertise and support in the development and deployment of additive manufacturing techniques and advanced material systems
    • Establish and iterate on engineering planning and controls in order to produce consistent and repeatable product from print start through customer delivery
    • Be the PoC with printer OEMs to drive improvements
    • Support root-cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot and update SOPs to control reoccurring problems
    • Own additive process qualification efforts specific to product as they mature to flight status
    • PoC for customer’s engineering teams and conduct drawing reviews with appropriate GD&T applied, with AM in mind.


    Typical Experience:

    Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 3 – 5 years of professional experience.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
    • 2+ years laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) experience
    • Manufacturing experience

    Desired Skills

    • CAD(preferred Solidworks) modeling experience
    • Ability to perform ROI studies on AM parts
    • Hands-on experience operating laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) platforms
    • Ability to program intricate custom build files for metal additive systems

  • CNC Programmer

    Description

The Visser Precision Manufacturing team located in Denver, CO is seeking a seasoned multi-axis CNC Programmer.

    Responsibilities Will Include

    • Development of machining strategy to take design data and produce machined hardware
    • Develop machine programs for Mills/Lathes/Multi Axis Mills and Multi Axis Lathes/VTLs
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of machinists/operators, manufacturing engineers, production supervisors, supply chain representatives, quality engineers/inspectors, and operations/program management to support program schedule & performance goals, mitigate manufacturing risks, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop manufacturing plans for high-volume production
    • Design custom tools and fixtures as needed
    • Develop set-up sheets to show alignment of geometry from CNC program to physical workpiece.
    • Identify, select, and procure appropriate tooling for job specific applications (based on part material, geometry, features, tolerances, system rigidity, and equipment capability).
    • Releasing programs to the production team that have been validated in Vericut.
    • Own process improvement opportunities (reduced machining/setup time, improved part quality)
    • Maintain configuration control of files and job records

     Qualifications

    • 8+ years of CAM programming experience
    • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
    • 3+ years of Mastercam experience
    • 2+ years of Vericut experience preferred
    • 2+ years of Solidworks experience preferred
    • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Must have experience with alloys commonly used in aerospace applications (aluminum, titanium, inconel, stainless steels)
    • Excellent communication skills

    Salary: 85k – $115k DOE

  • CNC Mill/Lathe Operator

    Responsibilities

    • Setup, operate and limited troubleshooting a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and components based on setup sheets, blueprints, drawings, sketches, CAD or other work instructions
    • Follow and/or suggest improvements to process documentation
    • Suggest process performance improvements and maintain product conformance by adjusting process parameters within approved scope
    • Use basic shop math to assist in job functions
    • Work with a broad range of materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel alloys, copper)
    • Perform product inspection using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, surface plates, thread gages, gage pins and optical comparators and document inspection results
    • Maintain traceability of product throughout all manufacturing operations
    • Collaborate with inspection, programming, engineering and project management to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges
    • Perform basic machine maintenance based on written or verbal instructions, including completing maintenance logs
    • Maintain work area in safe and orderly fashion
    • Practice safe working habits to prevent injuries and equipment and property damage
    • Participate in process and safety improvement
    • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
    • Other duties as assigned

    Ideal Requirements

    • 2 years of related manufacturing experience
    • Good problem solving, organizational, communication and teamwork skills
    • Good mechanical aptitude
    • Track record of safety and dependability
    • Exposure to MasterCam, PowerMill or basic G-Code knowledge an asset
    • Basic use of Excel/Word/Outlook
    • Exposure to working within a quality management system (ex. ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485)
